Overview

With Palmstreet’s expansion into different selling categories (particularly collectibles, where inventory is complex and often managed across multiple platforms), operational challenges became increasingly clear. Sellers using both Shopify and Palmstreet were struggling with manual updates that led to overselling or underselling, inventory and pricing discrepancies that frustrated buyers, and significant time spent duplicating listings.

Palmstreet also lacked a scalable way for sellers to bring in their existing catalogue, creating friction during onboarding and limiting retention. To address these issues, we introduced a Shopify → Palmstreet integration that automatically syncs listings and inventory in real time, reducing manual work, eliminating reconciliation errors, and enabling smoother multi-channel operations for high-value sellers.

Solution

We designed and shipped Palmstreet’s Shopify integration, enabling sellers to:

  • Authenticate via OAuth and install the Palmstreet custom Shopify app

  • Select a Shopify location to identify the correct warehouse for syncing

  • Automatically import Shopify listings into Palmstreet with real-time inventory syncing

  • View variant-level details, sync status, and discrepancies

  • Manually sync listing data from Shopify → Palmstreet when needed

  • Disconnect or update settings at any time for full control

Success Metrics

Since this feature has only recently been whitelisted, we pre-defined success metrics to measure the impact of the integration:

  • Improved Seller Satisfaction (CSAT 4.5/5 for sellers who use the integration) measured through in-app surveys triggered after successful setup or sync events

  • Seller Retention Rates for integrated vs. non-integrated sellers, with behaviour being assessed via event tracking

  • Listing Growth, with a target of a 15% increase in active listings from integrated sellers within 6 months

  • Revenue Impact, with an increase in GMV for integrated sellers who leverage high-volume inventory management tooling
